Our basketball suffered only their 3rd league defeat of the season on Wednesday, ending the first half of the Liga Bet season.
Opponents Hapoel Givataym, who sit in 8th place, surprised us with their smart basketball play and were ahead for pretty much the entire game as we chased down their lead.
In the first half, our free-throw shooting was off the mark and with Givatayim converting theirs, we found ourselves down early on. Yet, our defensive rebounds helped us back into the game as we found our groove on the offence.
Sam Roche, making his debut for the club, led the scoring for us with 15 points, while the likes of Yakir Naftali, Namer Medina and Nyv Segev also hit double figures during the close match.
In the end, the defeat means we finish the first half of the season on a 7-4 record, an impressive feat for just our first-ever year.
