This game will go down in the history books, after an unbelievable second half comeback saw us overcome a 17-point deficit to win over our close rivals.
Hapoel Yafo are one of the strongest teams in the league and they showed their quality early on with their fast breaks and accurate shooting causing us problems. We were down by double digits for the majority of the first two quarters.
However, AJ Mitnick changed things around and the introduction of Argentinian point guard Kevin Svetliza changed the tempo of the game, with his energy sparking a second half comeback.
Meir Tapiro and Sam Roche shouldered the responsibility of scoring while the likes of Yaniv Green, Ron Changel, Omri Rotman, Yarden Khoushy, Everest Sibony and Nico Leibo all made significant contributions for the unparalleled second half performance.
In the decisive 4th quarter with the scores level, Sam Roche was in inspiring form and barely missed as he led the game with 31 points and secured the crucial and memorable win for the club.
The victory moves us to a 6-3 record for the season in Liga Alef and sees us leapfrog both Hapoel Yafo and Maccabi Be'er Yaakov into 3rd spot in the league table.
Next we take on Beitar Tel Aviv Neve Eliezer away from home as we look to win our 5th game in a row.
