Inter Aliyah 76-77 Beitar Tel Aviv: Defeat at the Death Ends Four Game Winning Streak

After last week's epic comeback over Hapoel Yafo, it seemed that lightning was ready to strike twice as we came from behind to take the lead in the 4th away to Beitar Tel Aviv, but this time we were narrowly defeated.

Having trailed for the vast majority of the game, we mounted another inspiring comeback in the second half to prompt an exciting last few minutes with the scores close and both teams pushing to take the win.

In the end, we trailed by one with the ball in our hands for one last play in the final seconds but Yaniv Green's catch-and-shoot hit the rim and rolled out to give our opponents the victory.

It will be a bitter pill to swallow for AJ Mitnick and his roster in what would have been the 5th consecutive win and kept us in contention for an outside chance of promotion, instead we fall to 6th place in the table with a 6-4 record.

There was a memorable debut for new signing Daniel Baranes, who hit multiple 3s and ended with 18 points, while Sam Roche (22) and Meir Tapiro (18) also got into double figures for the night.

Next week we host Maccabi Beit Dagan in what is the penultimate game of the first round of matches in this Liga Alef Mercaz season.

We now have a 6-4 record for the season, with two games left to play of the first round.
