Inter Aliyah 82-80 Yehud: Winning Streak Extends to Three Games After Historic Night

A historic night for our basketball team as we produce a stunning late comeback to defeat one of the strongest teams in our league, as Meir Tapiro scores the most points in a single game for any Inter Aliyah player ever.

Hosting Yehud, who beat us earlier in the season and sit 3rd in the table, it was a shoddy start to the game. We went 12-0 down in the first two and half minutes, and one would have been excused to think it was the beginning of a bad night.

Things didn't really improve as we chased a double digit lead for the almost the entire game and trailed by 20 points at half time. In the second half we continued to try and chip away that lead but it was only in the last 5 minutes of the 4th quarter that we got it down to single digits.

Then, Meir Tapiro turned back the years and delivered an inspiring performance when it mattered. The legendary guard orchestrated the final charge, scoring or assisting on every single play.

In the final minutes, he hit 3-point shot, before getting fouled on another and draining all three free throws. Meir then assisted Sam Roche for another three-point shot to put us in the lead for the first time in the game with 30 seconds left to play.

An incredible result and performance, with Meir Tapiro's 32 points history in the making. Sam Roche (16), Yaniv Green (14) and Ron Changel (10) also reached double figures as we move to a 10-6 record for the season.
