We returned to the road for matchday 17, taking on Maccabi Holon for the season time this season, having won the home fixture in late November.
We started the game strong with 8 straight points by Meir Tapiro, playing strong defense through the first 7 minutes, holding Holon to 9 points, before Roie Elkarif made a series of 3 pointers to tie the game at the end of the first. A strong 2nd quarter by Yaniv Green propelled us to a 5-point lead going into halftime.
A few costly turnovers and another strong shooting 3rd quarter by Elkarif gave Holon a 1-point lead going into the final period. However, in the 4th and final quarter, we raised our defense holding Holon to 10 points on 30% FG in the 4th, to finish with the 10 point victory.
Sam Roche led the way with 27 points (including four 3-points-made), 5 Reb and 2 steals. Yaniv Green had 19 points, 14 rebounds, 3 assists and 3 blocks, with Meir Tapiro (18 points, 8 rebounds, 6 assists, a steal and a block) and Daniel Baranes (13 points) also heavily involved.
Meanwhile, there were also impactful contributions from Ron Changal (7), Kevin Svelitza (6) and Omri Rotman (2). Nico Leibo, Lavi Be'eri, Ron Segev and Josh Shapiro-Ackerman also featured as we move to a 9-6 record for the season.
