Not many would have predicted Inter White's first-ever clean sheet come against the 2nd-placed team in the league, but it was a fully deserved point. The result concludes 3 weeks of very difficult fixtures for Inter White, which saw them draw to the top two teams in the league.
Hod HaSharon smashed us 7-3 last time in a game where we were very poor. They always play and bring only 11 men and are a very fit team who play the ball very nicely.
Much like the Emek Yezreel game two weeks ago, Hod HaSharon dominated the play but we worked tirelessly to close them down and blocked everything that came at goal.
There were big challenges all over the pitch, we got first to the ball and really looked hungry to prove a point especially after the disappointment of last week's loss in the INTERCLASICO.
Whilst the previous game against them involved us making mistake after mistake, we really showed how far we have come as a team with very minimal errors the entire game and the few times we did need goalkeeper Roy Konfino, he came to our rescue beautifully.
They only really had one situation where they were one-on-one and Roy made a stunning save. We also didn’t have too many chances but when we did were also stopped by good saves by their keeper or a shot that just fell wide, in particular a delightful attempt from Jayden Youngleson, which was tipped over the bar.
Inter White is starting to hit some good form, losing only once (to Inter Blue) in their last 5 games and they face off against bottom side AJAF next week, with a win potentially putting us in 9th.
Head Coach Matt Keston was delighted after the game, saying ''We are conceding far fewer goals, playing a lot better football, making every match a close one and have been unlucky with decisions that haven’t gone our way to get us over the line in some games. The future is looking very bright for us as a team.''️
