A really disappointing day after so many weeks of good performances and good results against top sides, we came to one of the worst sides in the league with probably our poorest performance of the season, at least in the first half.

The first half we had one shot on goal and were horrific, sloppy, giving the ball away constantly, gave away a cheap penalty and showed nothing of the team of the weeks gone by, manager Matt Keston was angry at halftime and said it had to change, it was honestly a pathetic half.

The second half change we did and came out much stronger with a number of chances, but when 3 one-on-ones came, we missed the chance to equalise after Eliran Pinto, Zack Shooter and Pablo Zayat all failed to score when through on goal.

Then on the 68th minute, we give away another poor penalty, it was not Elijah Golding’s day as again he brought down their attacker in the box. However, we then dug our own grave as Pablo shouted abuse at the referee for the decision and got a second yellow card putting us down to 10 men.

Nonetheless, Roy Konfino made an amazing save and the score remained 0-1. But a few minutes later we would concede the second goal, a goal clearly offside but the referee was uninterested in our appeals.

Suddenly, we came to life and started attacking the Russians and playing good football; a superb run by Joey Spijer found Nate Sadoun for a great finish inside the box. However, all the good work was undone just a minute later as straight from kick-off the Russians ran through us to make it 1-3.

A pass from Eliran to Nate outside the box saw a stunning finish make it 2-3 with 6 minutes to go, his 4th goal in just 2 games. Despite piling on the pressure for the last few minutes, we didn’t find the equaliser.

A really poor performance and a disappointing result overall, not using our heads cost us dearly - something that shouldn’t be happening at this stage of the season against a team like that.
