With Inter Blue beating the in-form South Tel Aviv 2-1 with 10 men last week, there was confidence that Inter White could also produce a big result in the IFLI2 league fixture on Christmas Day

It was a good start for Inter White, who took the game to South Tel Aviv in the early stages. The breakthrough came from Jayden Youngleson, who collected a Nati Ajnwojner pass before dancing through several defenders and guiding the ball into the opposite bottom corner, leaving the keeper with no chance.

Shortly after, a wild challenge gave the referee no option but to point to the spot for South Tel Aviv, but Roy Konfino was up to the task, producing a brilliant save to keep the lead intact.

However, the equaliser would come before halftime as South Tel Aviv broke the offside trap to fire past Roy and go into the break with the scores level.

In the second half, our opponents raised their game and took us apart with some silky attacks that gave them a two-goal lead by the 70th minute. The counter-attacks were causing us all kinds of problems but we didn't give up and continued to look for a way back into the game.

The way back into the game came courtesy of the second spot-kick of the afternoon as Joey Spijer's shot was fumbled by the keeper and debutant Isaac Kahtan was taken down as he went for the rebound.

Captain James Green, on his first game back for a few weeks, took on the penalty responsibilities and made no mistake, firing the ball into the net. Yet, the two-goal lead was restored almost immediately as South Tel Aviv scored with their very next attack.

In what was a slightly ill-tempered game, South Tel Aviv was deservedly reduced to 10 men in the final stages but managed to hold onto the win as we threw everything at them.
