With just 5 games remaining left of the Liga Gimmel regular season, every game is pretty much a cup final as the race to finish in the top 3 play-off places heats up and last Friday was no different as we took on Elitzur Yafo at home.

David Pernitchi switched to a 5-3-2 formation to increase stability to the backline and although it took some time to settle, the team seemed far more secure at the back following last week's 4-1 defeat to Shikun Vatikim.

The first half saw both sides come close to opening the deadlock, with both Mono Bechini and Sam Sank making goalline clearances for us, while we threatened on the other end but couldn't find the first goal.

As half-time approached it was clear that it would be a low-scoring game and the need to find the all-important first goal was emphasised by the coaching team of Pernitchi and Sebastian Israel.

The goal did eventually come as Gaston Hilman sidefooted a Ron Sharifi pass into the back of the net to spark wild celebrations from the Inter bench. Leo Gewertz was called upon to make two massive saves as we held onto the win and the clean sheet.

Next week we take on our longtime rivals Naveh Golan away from home in another game that will determine the fate of our season.
