After last week's 7-0 drubbing in the Liga Bet season opener, we were desperate to make amends as we hosted Beit Dagan for our first-ever home game in the Israeli 4th division and that's exactly what we did.
Leo Gewertz was handed his first start of the season in goal, while Max Mzhen returned from injury in an otherwise unchanged lineup. We got off to the perfect start when Tomi Kehana headed home from a corner, scoring our first-ever goal in Liga Bet.
Itay Kugel added a second midway through the first half, taken advantage on a mistake in the Beit Dagan back line and giving us a healthy advantage into the break.
We knew it would be a tough second half and having failed to threaten in the opening period, Beit Dagan came at full force and scored twice in quick succession as the game balanced out.
Both sides had chances to win the game, with Saar Cohen seeing his effort cleared off the line but in the end a draw was a fair result. Great to get our first point of the season in front of an excellent showing in the stands.
