Our quest to finish atop the Lower Playoff table took a hit on Friday as we could only get a point from our home fixture against Elitzur Yafo, which was probably a fair result.

Gianni Conti returned to the starting lineup after time abroad and although he was beaten after 5 minutes, he made a number of terrific saves throughout the game to make sure we were not defeated.

After a slow opening 10 minutes where we conceded early on, we finally came to life and scored with one of our first attacks. Nadav Izmirli sent Ron Sharifi down the right and he beat two men before giving Vlad Kart an easy finish, his 16th goal this season.

We failed to add to Vlad's goal despite a number of clear-cut chances and went into the half-time break all level. Sebastian Israel encouraged the team to carry on playing free-flowing football but in the second half, it was Elitzur who looked more dangerous.

In the end, neither team could find the second goal and a draw was the right result. Oztma Holon's win over Spartak means our away trip to the league leaders will determine who finishes top.
