After defeat in the rain on Tuesday, we needed to stave off defeat as we took on our old rivals Maccabi HaShikma Hen at home on Friday. However, it was not to be and we were defeated after another timid performance, albeit improved on the midweek game.

Aron Soloducho made his first start for the club, as we moved to a 5-3-2 formation for the first time this season. Oded Puzis also made his first start of the season, following his return to the club a few weeks ago.

We were slow getting out the tracks and Shikma Hen were on the front foot from the go, attacking us early on. After a few close attempts, our opponents broke the deadlock with a move down our left, with the cross unintentional put into our net by Roni Sirosky.

As the half went on we found ourselves in the game and were competing well, without making any clear-cut chances. The scores remained the same until the half-time whistle.

We stayed with the same formation as the second half commenced and immediately there was more purpose about our forward play, as well as being more comfortable in position.

As the game neared its end, we streamed forward to find an equaliser and from an attacking corner, Shikma broke on the counter and scored their second. Vlad Kart scored for the 5th game running after controlling and firing home from an Aron Soloducho free-kick.

Tough to lose twice in a row but the table remains very close at the top in what is a very competitive season. Huge game at away at Beitar Ezra next Friday.
