For the final game of the regular season, we hosted HaKoach Ramat Gan in Jaffa, whom we had drawn 0-0 with earlier on in the season and like us, who also will compete in the lower playoff next.
Fernando Zatz stepped in as captain for the game, with both Sam Sank and Gaston Hilman out and it was the Brazilian midfielder who ran things right from the off as we dominated early on.
A delightful through ball from Fer put Vlad Kart in on goal and his composed finish put us into the lead just before halftime. That's now 8 league goals for Vlad in Liga Gimmel for the 2021/22 campaign, furthering himself as the club's top scorer this season.
Leo Gewertz barely had a save to make all afternoon in what was our 6th clean sheet in 14 games played.
In the second half, we continued to command the majority of possession and it looked to only be a matter of time before we extended our lead.
We did eventually double our goal count for the game as Vlad Kart turned provider to twin brother Evgeny, who scored his 5th goal of the season, an impressive return from left-back.
The win means we finished the regular season in 5th place, just 3 points away from the playoffs.
