It may have been a good game to watch as a neutral, but last Friday's home fixture against Otzma Holon was one to forget for Inter Aliyah as we conceded five times in the second half to compound a 6-3 defeat.
Fernando Zatz again stood in as captain but it was a first-half that he'll never want to be reminded of after the Brazilian midfielder blew two great chances and then missed a penalty just before halftime.
Had we converted those golden opportunities then maybe things would have been different but we went into the halftime break a goal down, as Otzma Holon scored a cracker from outside the box.
Sebastian Israel's halftime team-talk clearly did the trick, as within 15 minutes we had turned the game around and taken the lead. First, Isaac Kahtan scored his first goal for the cub when he headed home Evgeny Kart's cross.
Then, this season's top scorer Vlad Kaqrt added to his goal tally when he was found by Josh Fischbach to put us 2-1 up. However, from then on out, it was a shambles at the back as Holon ran riot.
The 2020 Liga Gimmel champions tore us apart as our defence struggled to keep them out and despite a late goal from Evgeny Kart, there was not much to celebrate.
We will leapfrog Holon to 1st place in the Lower Playoff table though if we win our game in hand.
