Our first home game of the season saw us take on Roeh Heshbon Tel Aviv, who were Liga Gimmel champions back in the 2019/20 and were relegated from Liga Bet last season.

It was a tough first game of the season but we controlled the game from the very beginning in an almost identical team from last week's season opener, besides from captain Sam Sank, who returned to the defence.

Vlad Kart, who scored twice last week, continued his good run of form, converting his first chance at goal as our high pressure forced an error in the Ruach defence, allowing Vlad to finish home, a goal which made him the leading goalscorer in Inter Aliyah history!

Despite our dominance, Ruach scored one of their rare attacks of the game, with a tidy finish outside of the box. It was a bitter pill to swallow especially with the amount of chances we had, in particular Gaston Fratesi's free-kick which hit the bar and a couple of one-one-ones for Alon Zurita.

In the second half, we again controlled the narrative of the game and a beautiful move down the left-hand side ended with Vlad feeding Gaston Hilman who rifled a powerful shot into the roof of the net to regain our lead.

However, again Ruach would equalise, with the same player again hitting an impressive shot from outside of the area beyond the reach of Leo Gewertz. With the scores tied again, Borja Lema changed the formation as we looked to go for all three points.

Samuel Hazins, who played in three different positions in the game, would go on an incredible running, releasing Vlad Kart through on goal and our top scorer would hold his nerve to put us 3-2 up.

Not satisfied with a one goal lead, Vlad would complete his hat trick to guarantee the win, thanks to a Ron Sharifi assist. The fourth goal ended Ruach's hopes of getting something from the game.

A brilliant win at home, where we showed a lot of resolve and confidence, actually puts us top of the table briefly, a feat we've never done before!!
