A stifling Tuesday morning saw us put our 100% record on the line again as we took on Spartak Ramat Gan at home in the 4th game of the 2022/23 Liga Gimmel season.

Evgeny Kart returned to the starting lineup in place of Isaac Kahtan in what was otherwise an unchanged team that beat Bnei Yehud away 4-2 last Friday. Unlike the last couple of games though, our bench was finally a bit fuller as players returned from abroad.

We'd beaten Spartak four times over the course of last season but remained cautious as the match kicked off. Alon Zurita put us ahead with a shot from way out that flew straight over the keeper and into the net.

However, the lead lasted just a few minutes as Spartak equalised from an equally impressive effort direct from a free kick, which highlighted the danger they posed despite their record last season.

Not happy with his goal from outside the box, Alon Zurita then added two more similar strikes before the half was up to secure one of the finest hat tricks we've ever seen at the club.

We went into the second half with a two-goal cushion but the fact we were not satisfied with the result at that point really goes to show how far we've come as a team this season already.

The second half was played a a far slower pace but we still managed to add three more goals to give the result a more emphatic scoreline. Gaston Fratesi and Ron Sharifi both got on the scoresheet, the latter from the penalty spot, while Alon ended the game by getting his 4th.

The win keeps us at the top of the Liga Gimmel table, having won all 4 of our opening games this season.
