After losing our 100% record in Liga Gimmel last week when we were defeated at home to Otzma Holon, it was crucial to get back to winning ways as we headed to Maccabi Or Yehuda for our next game.
Sam Sank returned to the starting XI, while there was a first league start for Oded Puzis, following the striker's return to the club having featured back in the 2019/20 season.
The first half was a total rout but we were lucky to keep a clean sheet early after the hosts had three clear-cut chances, all of which Leo Gewertz did brilliantly to save and make sure we wouldn't go behind.
After that, we took total control of the game and scored six unanswered first half goals, with Vlad Kart and Oded Puzis grabbing a hat trick each before the break, as the Or Yehuda defence just couldn't handle our blistering attack.
Yet, even with a commanding 6-0 lead at the break, Head Coach Borja Lema stated his unhappiness with the performance, urging the team to improve in the second half and mitigate the mistakes.
In the second half, with the result a formality already, we were a bit lazy in defence and Or Yehuda managed to score twice, although we were still to outscore our opponents, with Oded, Gaston Hilman and Sasha Machta scoring further goals.
The win moved us to 2nd place in the Liga Gimmel table.
