Top row (from left to right): Uriel Benita, Kevin Packer, Matt Keston, Alan Kaler, Gabriel Bruck, Addison Southerland, Nacho Duek, Tom Printac, Didi Hovav and David Hovav.

Bottom row (from left to right): Guile Meyer, David Benarroch, Sam Sank, Zach Shooter, Nic von Caprivi, Max Russell, Josh Fischbach, Jack Bross and Sebastian Litmanovich.

Playing the team at the top of the league was always going to be a difficult game but it was made harder when 5 players in the matchday squad had to cancel last minute because of a positive corona case.

Despite this we came out and absolutely controlled the game, Northern Stars could not leave their half and were lost for ideas, just constantly kicking the ball in the air to nowhere. We didn’t convert any of our chances though in either half and ultimately this would cost us.

In the 44th minute, with just a minute left of what had been an excellent half for us, just like last week a bad free-kick given straight to their attacking player gifted them a goal. It was an angry team talk from Matt Keston after such a good first half, who was in disbelief that we were losing at half time.

Debutants from Mexico: Jack Bross and Sebastian Litmanovich

We started the second half well but again we made a very bad mistake just 8 minutes into it which killed the game. A poor pass at the back again straight to their attacking player and he wasn’t closed down quick enough found the goal to make it 2-0.

We had a number of chances after but couldn’t finish any of them.

In summary, we had fought excellently and battled well, but made bad mistakes which we were punished for and didn’t take our chances in front of goal. Despite the much-improved performance from last week, it is another disappointing defeat.

We go again next week and will bounce back 💪
