A very tight game with limited chances for both teams throughout the game, but it was IFU South that took theirs better than we did. Matt Keston, Inter B's Head Coach, said he was proud of the whole team’s performance and despite the loss, we leave the pitch having played and battled well but two moments of lost concentration proved costly.

We started fantastically and were rewarded with a great move; Guile and Nic VC combining down the right-wing, a superb ball by Nic to Zack Shooter who smashed home the goal to make it 1-0 after 15 minutes.

We were on top but IFU had one central midfielder, their captain, who was making our lives difficult controlling a lot of the play. It was him who delivered a free-kick into the box and poor defending saw their man rise above to header home to make it 1-1 on the 32nd minute.

They had a chance just before the break to make it 2-1 but a great save by Roche in a 1-on-1 situation saved us. The second half was similar, with us having actually more of the chances on goal but failing to find the net.

We were punished on the 63rd minute as we fell victim to a ball over the top which took away our defence and Roche in goal was not in time to palm it away as the striker headed in another to make it 2-1.

More chances came and went, we changed to 3-5-2 and attacked as much as we could but to no avail. They had a man sent off with a few minutes remaining for a second yellow card in a game that was a battleground throughout.

Not our day today but a good performance and we will bounce back next week.
