Back to back wins for the first time this season and another big 3 points without performing at our highest level.

The first half we dominated possession and had chances but didn’t test their keeper, too much was going in the air through the middle and not to the wings, they were a big strong team so it wasn’t easy. It was Aviv City who had the better chances, hitting us on the break and David Bennaroch made 2 important saves in the first half.

The second half we didn’t come out as well as I would have liked and weren’t winning enough of the 50-50 challenges. The game slowed down and still, we were not putting shots on target, there was a stalemate and the one big chance up until the 75th minute went again to Aviv City, another save by David. Apart from this though, as usual, we were hard to break down and defended well.

On the 70th minute we changed to 4-4-2 to go for the game and within 5 minutes we had a beautiful goal from 25 yards, David Salem taking Nic VC’s pass and curling the ball into the net past the keeper who had not had much to do all game.

We went back to 4-1-4-1, as usual, to keep it solid, but were caught out by a long ball over the top of our defence and a rare mix up between goalkeeper and defence that led to their equaliser being slotted into the corner from close range on the 84th minute.

Going for it again we switched back to 4-4-2 and within minutes we were again rewarded as a ball chased down by Didi Hovav and then Daniel Geron caused a race between them and the keeper who rushed out his goal, the ball hit the out of place goalkeeper and landed to Ran Sarusi 25 yards out, who slotted the ball into the empty net.

We then held out till the end for a big 3 points. Not the prettiest football we’ve ever played but it doesn’t matter, we’ve won again and as a team, we are getting the job done which is all that matters!

Man of the match: David Salem 🔥
