A sad way to end the season in a game that was 1-1 until the 80th minute and where we missed many a good chance to go into the lead.
After just 5 minutes we were 1-0 up as a mishit shot from Alan Kaler hit the bar and Ehud Eblagon smashed it in from close range as everyone on the other team stopped and appealed for offside.
Twenty minutes later, Ehud brought their striker down in the box but Sam Sank stood firm in the middle of the goal and saved the penalty that their striker tried to chip down the middle with a Panenka - an embarrassing moment for the striker.
It remained 1-0 at half time and although our passing wasn’t on point, we were playing well enough to look good for the win. However, in the second half we came out slowly and a ball over the top of our defence led to the equaliser.
We missed a lot of chances and hit the post twice in the second half. But, on the 80th minute, we switched off for the final section of the game and amazingly the same player scored all 5 of their goals, beating our midfield and defence far too easily as they went 4-1 up in 8 minutes.
A beautiful cross from Max Russell found Gabi Bruck's head to make it 4-2 as he played up front for the final minutes. But from the centre kick amazingly their star man fired it straight in from the halfway line, an extraordinary site!
The season is over and we finish in 6th place. It really was a season of two halves, many injuries and the continued outbreak of Corona caused us to have very inconsistent line ups throughout the season which made it difficult.
Thank you to all for being part of this great team and we will come back stronger 💪❤️
