Our veteran team in the IFLI2 came up against strong opposition Homenetmen on Saturday and were narrowly defeated in a closely-fought game in Jaffa.

After a delayed kickoff, we started well and looked dangerous going forward, with Daniel Geron and Misha Marianoff linking up well as we attempted to test the Armenian keeper.

However, as the half advanced it was our opponents who started to control the proceedings and they managed to beat Yoav Greenberg with a powerful finish as our defence failed to get back in time to deal with the counterattack.

The halftime break gave us an opportunity to regroup and discuss where we can exploit the weaknesses of Homenetmen and the plan worked to perfection as we started to rain down on our opponents' goal.

Ran Sarusi's introduction at halftime was particularly significant as the long-serving striker played a smart one-two with Tom Printac, who beat two men down the left before crossing for Ran to fire home with his left foot.

Unfortunately, the lead only lasted 7 minutes as a long ball over our defence put the Homenetmen winger through on goal to score his second of the game, a goal which would ultimately decide the outcome of this fixture.
