Having made it to the semi-finals of the IFLI Cup, beating higher division opponents in a penalty shootout in both the quarter-finals and round of 16, the next challenge was a daunting one as we faced off against FC Remontada in the semis.
Remontada, who finished 3rd in the IFLI1 this season, knocked us out of the cup a couple of years ago and it was to be the same ending this time round as they defeated us convincingly over 90 minutes.
The heroics of Inter Blue's cup round finally came to an end and although the scoreline suggests a one-sided, we gave it our best shot against quality opposition and were within a single goal at halftime, after Nacho Duek scored from Max Russell's corner.
As we attempted to get back into the game in the closing stages, Remontada exploited our shape and grabbed three late goals to send us home and conclude the 2021/22 season.
