A horrific final ten minutes for Inter Blue, saw us lose 5-3 to Aviv City in the IFLI2 on Saturday night, despite being 3-2 up as the game reached its final moments.
We were the better team in the first half, showing our class throughout. The immediate pressure we put Aviv City paid off after a nice pass from Nacho Duek found Daniel Geron who opened his account for the season.
However, we failed to keep the lead until half time and a defensive error allowed Aviv City to equalise before the break.
The poor defending continued into the second as our opponent's striker danced his way through the defence before rounding David Benarroch to put them into the lead for the first time.
Yet, this rollercoaster of a game carried on as Daniel Geron grabbed his second goal of the evening from the penalty spot.
The former striker from our Liga Gimmel side then completed his hat trick shortly after, becoming the first player to score 3 goals in a game for multiple Inter Aliyah sides.
Despite holding the lead as the game reached its climax, our shocking defending reared its ugly head again as we gave away three goals in the last ten minutes, throwing away the points.
