A crazy end-to-end game to the start the year. Both teams giving the ball away and making errors allowed for many chances throughout the entire game. Going into the game 0-0 at half time was a surprise after both teams could have scored 3 times. Shoutout to Ehud Eblagon in goal who saved the day many a time without even having goalkeeper gloves.
We played good football; keeping it for the most part on the floor with some nice passing however a rustiness in our play allowed for many a mistake. The Moldovan tactic was just to pump the ball forward in the air and at times it worked for them. A sloppy goal on the 62nd minute as we didn't clear the ball properly and their striker hit it in from 4 yards. In a mess, 4 minutes later Kevin packer gave a small push in the back to their striker and the referee pointed to the spot. Luckily, the penalty was blazed over the bar.
Four minutes later, a great attack with Ilan Flaks linking up to David Salem who made a great pass to Mijael, who scored in his first game for the club. The momentum was now with us and we had more chances but couldn't score, then a handball in the box on the 85th minute, Didi steps up but hits the post. In the last few minutes, either team could have won and a draw was a fair result.
Proud of the way we played and our sharpness will come with more game time.
Shout out to Kevin Packer who did a magnificent heading challenge against a guy twice his size but in the process got a heavy blow to the head and we wish you well Kevin. Thank you to Uriel's girlfriend who drove him to hospital and thank you to all who helped bandage him up.
